Members Terms and Conditions
Please read the following terms carefully before joining Sage Pilates. By becoming a member, you agree to the conditions outlined below, If you have any questions, our team is always happy to help — hello@sagepilates.com.au.
1. Cooling off period
You can cancel your membership with us up to 7 days from the date you commenced training for the avoidance of doubt the 7 day period commences from the day you complete your first session with Sage). This is only applicable to new membership agreements - this is strictly not applicable if you have completed any trial classes at the studio) If you cancel within the 7 day guarantee period, Sage will refund your money less any set-up fee or the value of any promotional item such as any merchandise they have given you upon joining with us.
2. Minimum Age
The minimum age for training with us is 16. People under the age of 18 are required to provide a certificate from a parent or legal guardian confirming approval to train with Sage.
3. Your Health
You warrant that you are in good physical condition and you know of no medical or other reason why you cannot or should not do active or passive exercise. You recognise that the fitness instructor(s) is not able to provide me with medical advice with regard to my fitness, and that this information is used as a guideline to the limitations of my ability to exercise. I agree to not hold any certified trainer or directors of Sage Pilates liable for any injury and/or illness that may occur at the studio.
4. Paying for memberships
Membership fees are paid in advance, weekly, by direct debit from a credit card. Transaction fees do apply.
5. Meeting your responsibilities
You must make sure your account can accept direct debits and there is enough money in your account on the payment day. You must tell us if you are transferring or closing your account at least 7 days before the next direct debit You tell us about any changes to your credit card, such as its expiry date or number, at least 7 days before your next debit. Managing your account is your responsibility. If you are unable to train for whatever
reason you must advise us ASAP. We will not backdate suspensions or provide a refund under any circumstance for not using the studio.
6. What happens if your payment is declined or fails for any reason?
If you do not fully pay your fees on the due date, Sage will suspend access to the studio until any outstanding balance has been paid and you have given us your updated account details if they are required. Sage will continue to debit your nominated account without notice, until we have received the total amount you owe. Sage will contact you on the email address you provided to remind you that you have an outstanding balance. For membership/s in your name, you must make sure that the payment method you choose remains valid for the length of your agreement. This includes third-party accounts. If the details you give us fail, you are liable for all resulting fees. You should update your details and are obligated to complete your minimum term of payments.
7. No show and late cancellation fees
If you do not attend a class you have booked you will be charged a no show fee of $15. If you late cancel a class you will be charged a late cancellation fee of $10. Late cancellation window is 5 hours. Late cancel and no show sessions will not be returned to your account.
8. Studio Etiquette
Classes begin on time and doors are locked. To avoid disappointment we recommend arriving 5 minutes early. If you do not arrive on time your spot may be given away to someone from the waitlist who is waiting in the studio or you may be refused entry for your own safety with missing the warm up and class instructions. All classes will run for 45-50 minutes. To ensure a pleasant experience for all members we ask that you commit to the entirety of the session. Please ensure your mobile device is silent during class time and stored in the locker space. You must bring your own sweat towel. You must either participate in session bare foot or in Pilates/grippy socks. Synthetic socks will not be accepted.
9. Can Sage Pilates change your agreement?
Sage may sometimes add to, change or remove our terms and conditions. This includes changing the opening and closing hours, the Sage services and facilities and membership fees. Sometimes, Sage may also close for refurbishment to improve the facilities. If this substantially reduces our ability to provide our service to you, Sage will reduce your membership fees accordingly on a pro-rata basis. The most up-to-date terms and condition always apply. Sage will give you at least 28 days’ notice of any changes. If Sage does not fulfil our obligations to you, you may be able to cancel your membership. Unless the law states otherwise, you won’t have any other claim against us if this happens.
10. Can Sage increase your fees?
Sage reserves the right to increase your fees only at any time after your agreement has ended. Sage will make a reasonable effort to tell you about this at least 28 days beforehand by writing to the address you last gave us (which may be an email address). Sage will consider that you have received our letter or email on the second business day after it is sent. Where Sage has made a reasonable effort to let you know about a fee increase, you authorise us to increase any debits from your nominated account.
11. Suspensions and Cancellations
We understand that from time to time you may not be able to train due to holidays, rest periods, becoming sick or injured or wish to cancel your membership altogether. The following rules apply to suspensions and cancellations:
Suspensions
* Memberships can be suspended at any time with minimum one week written notice (must be emailed to hello@sagepilates.com.au) One week minimum suspension Eight week maximum suspension each year
* Suspensions strictly cannot be backdated, this is not negotiable under any circumstance. It is the responsibility of the client to contact us to request a pause on your account, refunds for time not used will also be denied.* Any outstanding membership balances must be finalised prior to your account going on suspension.
Cancellations
All cancellations must be emailed to hello@sagepilates.com.au. Cancellations will not be accepted via any other format - should you attempt to contact us to cancel your account in any other way (including social media, voicemail, phone call, etc) this will not be accepted and your two week notice period will commence when we receive your cancellation email.
Cancelling While Under Suspension
A minimum 2 weeks’ written notice is required to cancel your membership. Should you cancel while your account is suspended, your suspension will be lifted and the 14 days notice period will come into immediate effect taking into account any credit remaining from your last payment cycle.
12. Use of Your Image
You agree to allow Sage Pilates to take a video or photo to use for promotion purposes from time to time. Should you not wish this to occur please let our friendly team know ASAP.
